Description
Yellow cherry guava is a small compact, slow growing tree with smooth leathery green leaves. White flowers in late Spring followed by heavy crops of large round yellow fruit with a delicious aromatic flesh. Fruiting from April through to June. Fruit is rich in Vitamin C and is best eaten fresh or can be made into guava jelly.
Plant in well drained soil and prefers a full sun position for maximum fruit production.
Guavas can tolerate climatic extremes from frosts down to -5 degrees C once established. Feed with citrus fertiliser in Spring. Prune to desired size and shape. Pinching out tips regularly will encourage compact growth habit. Self fertile.
Growing in a 3 litre pot.
