Description

NZ native. A magnificent tree fern producing masses of very soft and delicate looking fronds which spread horizontally from the crown and reach 2 to 2.5 metres in length. The trunk is covered in chestnut coloured scales. Fronds have a prominent yellowish midrib. Prefers a position in filtered shade with well drained moist soils and a sheltered site. Protect from wind and frost, hardy to cold. Evergreen with a slow growth rate.

Estimated height after ten years is 5 metres.
