Description
Evergreen shrub with small leathery leaves and small edible berries that ripen in March.
The berries taste like a combination of strawberry, pineapple and apple.
Has a few common names NZ cranberry, Chilean quava.
Plant in full sun or part shade.
Tolerates a wide range of soil conditions. Responds well to trimming and shaping. Can be susceptible to thrips.
Once established the plants do not mind drought conditions but watering during establishment is a good idea. A good thick mulch/compost is also appreciated.
